The easy method to to calculate percentages of any Value
Everyone knows that there are arithmetic operations that we need on a daily basis, and among these operations we find the process of calculating the percentage value of a certain number (total value) to determine, for example:
One percent is one hundredth. To indicate this, we use the % sign. So 5 percent is equal to 5%, 0.05, 5/100, or five hundredths. It's that simple! That's all very well, but most of the time we don't just use percentages. Sometimes, we want to represent the ratio between 2 numbers.
we want to calculate 73% of 21178.
73% means 73 for each 100. So the approach would be: if I have 73 from 100, I have X from 21178 :
73 |
100 |
X |
21178 |
100 ----> 73
21178 ----> X
X =73 x 21178 |
100 |
X = (73 x 21178) / 100
X = 15459.94
So, 73% of 21178 is 15459.94.
